The Little Black Dress:
Okay, I had some nice black cotton and a pattern that I was familiar with. So I decided to make a standard item in any girls wardrobe.....

It turned out decent! The seams are all straight, it even fits the doll pretty well.
I don't care for the waist seam on a solid color dress

the pattern would probably work well for mixing colors or
for a patterned print that needs to line up a certain way.

I got another new pattern to play with! I really liked the simple lines of this dress and decided to give it a try. It fits the doll perfectly (first try with the pattern!).

I am getting much better at doing the seams, most of them are straight.

I did play with a scallop setting on my sewing machine
after I finished the bottom hem.
It's not easy to see on this print, but I think once I get the hang of
it,
I might like it as an accent on other things.
